Sunstroom will build the first large scale Groundmounted Solar PV Project in Croatia
Sunstroom, the anglo-spanish solar project developer and builder, has announced that it will build the first large scale ground mounted solar pv project in Croatia.
The company obtained yesterday the final missing building license from the townhall of ORAHOVICA in eastern Croatia where the solar park will be build.
This first solar project of 500 KW will be called Orahovica 1 and will be build before the end of the year. In 2012 Sunstroom will build Orahovica 3 which falls under the same agreement with the townhall and will have the size of 2.5 MW.
The mayor of the city of Orahovica, mr Josip Nemec and the chairman of the cities renewable energy council mr Alan Grgic are very pleased with the result and the fact that the city will host the first large scale solar project in the country.
The quality and results of Sunstrooms previous installed solar PV projects in Europe formed an important part of the decision but very important also the fact that Sunstroom is fully operating in Croatia since about one year.
The Director of Sunstroom in Croatia mr Aljosa Pleic announced that the solar park in Orahovica will be the only project in Croatia that will benefit from the existing FIT in Croatia, Sunstroom has a further 35 MW of projects under development in Croatia and they will be ready for construction when the new FIT will be accepted by the government, most probably in the beginning of 2012.
Sunstroom recently finished this summer one of UK's biggest solar PV projects near Malmesbury in Wiltshire and is besides Croatia developing solar PV projects in France Canada and the USA for more then 50 MW.
